Writing Contest

Back home... sigh...

This great blog, Eve of Womanhood, has hosted a writing contest and here is my entry. It's sorta long (a bit over two pages, but an easy read), so I've linked this post to Google Drive and you can find it there.

About my entry:
I live in a very wealthy community-- but my family is very average with an average income and a smallish house. Therefore, sometimes my school asks for very expensive things on the school supply list, and sometimes the teachers suppose you have an Apple device (iPhone, iPad) and plan the lesson around a certain app that can only be found through Apple. This bothers me, as I don't have an Apple device, so I wrote a story about two kids who kind of rebel against their wealthy, expensive public school.

Please read it and enjoy!

  1. You did a great job! I truly enjoyed reading it! Oh and I was wondering.. if you might want a free blog design made my me? I haven't been getting many orders and I have been having a lot of inspiration lately. I hope you're not thinking I'm saying that the one you have now is not good because it is lovely! I really do like it! I just wanted to ask. :)

    1. Thank you for reading-- and yes I would! The reason I have not actually asked yet is because I would rather not give anyone my email... so before I consent, can I ask why exactly you need it?

    2. Oh, it's because I need to email you design pictures and ask you questions about what you would like changed. I would never ever tell anyone your email by the way. :)

    3. I know-- I do trust you, but it's a bit weird giving your email to someone you haven't ever actually met. But I did it anyway... I've seen your portfolio and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with my blog!

  2. I like your story, Emily, but I feel like it needs more of an ending. I really like it, though. I entered that contest...and I have a feeling I have some competition! :) Good luck!

    1. I agree, I felt that way as well. I struggle with endings, and I wasn't entirely sure how to create a fulfilling finish to the story. I'm glad you liked it though!
